Defeat

I'm trying very hard not to feel depressed this morning and throw in the towel on the weight-loss lark. The scales, which were sitting sensibly at a stay-the-same for the week have bounced overnight - up a whole 4 lbs.

This means, that for the first time since autumn last year, I have officially weighed in back over 13st. It feels pretty heartbreaking right now to be back-tracking like this, in fact it feels a lot like it used to feel pre-Weightwatchers, when I'd watch helplessly as the scales would very slowly creep upwards one tiny bit at a time regardless of what I did.

I would say I'm losing confidence in the Weightwatchers programme, but really I'm losing confidence in me.

I don't want to go back to where I was, half my clothes feel tight and I feel like I'm on a slow inevitable slide - a bit like watching a car crash in slow motion.

I hate feeling like this.

Hang in there and dont give up ! You seriously will be back to square one if you give in now. Ok so you have gained 4lb and as awful as that feels right now (believe me I understand) , if you dont take action now, that 4 lb could change into 4 stone, right? You know and I know how bloody hard this is. I have been battling with the same 7 pounds since July of last year, but although Im gutted that I cant seem to slip into the 11's and stay there, I would rather hover between these 7 pounds than gain 7 stone which I have done in the past, and Im sure I could do again if Im not careful.
Really go for it this week. Drink all your water, watch your food intake, and Im sure the blip on the scales will have gone by this time next week. Believe me, I sympathise with you, I really do as I know exactly how it feels, but I would hate to see you give up. You CAN do this x

I know its easy for me to say - but don't throw in the towel. You've come so far and you know how good you feel for having lost the weight.

You've got a lot of other things going on at the moment, so weight loss is not going to be easy.

I don't know what to suggest re. getting back on track as I'm struggling myself, but take it one day at a time. Maybe go back to basics, try planning everything in advance - or try maintaining for a while.

You can do this and you've inspired me to stick with it when I've struggled. Hugs x

Don't quit!! Look how far you've come! 4 pounds is nothing you can't lose this month!

Ask yourself how bad you want this! Revisit all of those things that made you start in the first place. You're moving closer to where you want to be! This is a JOURNEY! Think about what you've been doing lately and how you've been eating that is making you gain, and LEARN FROM IT.

YOU ARE HUMAN! we are not machines! we're going to see some set backs! But that is how we LEARN!

I have faith in you! You can DO this! It's rough, and there have been plenty of times where I have been where you are. It's not how many times we fall, it's how many times we get back up! So get up, dust yourself off, today is a new day and a perfect chance to change it all around!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ****hugs****

And ditto to what everyone else has said and just sharing my experiences - I can go for weeks with my weight staying steady or gradually easing down (I'm not a a fast loser) with no major fluctuations and then out of the blue I'll have a week where I'm still eating well and doing the right things and they bounce about all over the place - this week from Monday weigh in day - they went up 200g on Tues, up another 100g Wed , then up another 400g on Friday - then this morning back to Monday's weight - and that's with me adhering absolutely to my eating plan. I have been known to jump up almost 2 kilos overnight then back again the next day. Guess the answer is not to be a daily weigher - but I'm too old to change now - I need the control. Hang in there chick - you've come so far and you're just going through a bumpy patch - just hang on to the steering wheel and aim forwards! Zxx

It's hard but stick with it. Sometimes the body will put on weight when you do everything right. If you stick with it it will come off again don't worry!

I know its hard, we all have our own things to fight. Mine might not be my weight but I sometimes think I should give in. Then I back into a routine and I realise I have to fight!
